51ºÚÁÏ Administration and Faculty Union Reach Tentative Agreement to Extend Collective Bargaining Agreements

CLEVELAND (August 24, 2020) – 51ºÚÁÏ (51ºÚÁÏ) administration, the American Association of University Professors 51ºÚÁÏ chapter (AAUP-51ºÚÁÏ), and AAUP-51ºÚÁÏ-Law School (LS) chapter are pleased to announce that the parties have a tentative agreement to extend the current Collective Bargaining Agreements, which expired August 15, 2020.

The tentative agreement was reached after multiple sessions of engaged, candid, and professional discussions. The 51ºÚÁÏ-AAUP and 51ºÚÁÏ-AAUP-LS chapters will present the tentative agreement to their membership for ratification. Upon ratification by the union membership, the 51ºÚÁÏ administration will present the tentative agreement to the Board of Trustees for approval.

The parties believe that constructive dialog, mutual understanding, transparency, and collective efforts are essential for 51ºÚÁÏ to emerge from the current pandemic in a stronger, more sustainable position and plan to continue further interactions in that spirit.
