2026 Schedule of Events

In 1993, Graduate & Professional Student Appreciation Week (GPSAW) was launched nationally. GPSAW celebrates the accomplishments of our graduate & professional students and their contribution to the 51ºÚÁÏ community.

The College of Graduate Studies and the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) will be hosting events for GPSAW.

If your office or department is hosting an event for GPSAW you can complete this and we can help publicize your programming.

April 6-10

MONDAY APRIL 6

GPSAW Kickoff
12-2pm in Student Center Ballroom (Third Floor)
Join us for free food, networking activities, a DJ, and caricature artist as we kick off Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week.

THURSDAY, APRIL 9

AI Tools for Academic Research
11:30am-12:30pm via Zoom
This live Zoom workshop will discuss a variety of AI-based tools to assist with academic research and reference management, as well as dive into ethics and citation guidelines relevant to academic research and publishing. The participants will have the opportunity to experiment with these tools and are encouraged to come with a research topic and/or scholarly articles they would like to explore.

FRIDAY, APRIL 10

WhirlyBall Graduate Student Retreat
3-7pm at WhirlyBall Cleveland (Address: 5055 Richmond Rd, Bedford Heights, OH)

Join us for an exciting and engaging off-campus retreat at WhirlyBall, designed exclusively for graduate students. This event offers a perfect blend of recreation, networking, and team-building in a fun and relaxed environment. Participants will have the opportunity to experience WhirlyBall, a unique game that combines elements of basketball, lacrosse, and bumper cars while connecting with fellow students from diverse programs. The retreat aims to promote community building, reduce academic stress, and enhance collaboration among graduate students. 

Transportation will be provided, and light refreshments will be included. Don’t miss this opportunity to unwind, build connections, and create memorable experiences with your peers!
